Testimony of Jonny Cambell

My name is Jonny Campbell and 3 years ago, when I was 12 I became a born again Christian! Here’s my story…

I grew up in a non-Christian home although my granny is a Christian, she took me to church with her most Sundays and I was a regular member of Sunday school, BB type groups and youth groups. I had always called myself a Christian yet really deep down I did not know Jesus as my own saviour.

By the time I got to secondary school I had got into the wrong company, left Sunday school and was living a life foe myself. However I still attended my BB style group “the Caravaners” in the Nazarene church and would call myself a Christian to most adults.

When I was 12 I was in a classroom when a Christian teacher asked about who were Christians a mate of mine said, “yea Jonny’s a Christian” This made me really embarrassed but yet left me wondering about all the childhood Sunday school classes and Bible camps I used to attend. God was bringing to my memory the gospel I had learned. It’s true when God said, “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11) The gospel seed planted in me years ago was starting to grow; I decided to go to the Whitwell Church where I had gone with my granny as a boy. ? I went there for a week or two and one Sunday night in July 2004 I gave my life over to Jesus Christ.

Since then my life has been totally changed. I have been saved from death, Hell, the power of sin and one day the very presence of sin! I have been given the greatest power/privilege to become a child of God “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God” (John 1:12) Jesus Christ has given to me a life, a life full of passion, excitement and joy but I must never depart from the fact that he took my punishment on the cross of calvary. “He took my sins and my sorrows, he made them his very own. He bore the burden to Calvary and suffered and died alone”

Jesus Christ has saved me – he can do the same for you!
